Thank you for wanting to know a little more about The Potter’s Touch!

 

The Potter’s Touch was set up to bring out the extraordinary beauty and potential hidden in clay. It takes time and patience for the clay to become the pieces you see. Each piece is handcrafted with love and care and no two pieces are exactly the same.

I have always enjoyed designing and my favourite subject at school was Art and Design. Later, I spent four years at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru, specialising in Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Design. During this time, I got a chance to work with different materials, including metals and wood. As much as I enjoyed working with them, nothing gave me greater joy than working with clay.  

 

Perhaps it goes back to my first memory of creating something on the potter’s wheel during a school trip when I was 11 years old. I was fascinated by the way the potter could turn clay into something so beautiful. There was something about this unassuming material and the process that caught my attention.

Clay is a common material, full of uncommon potential and promise. What shape it will take, what purpose it will serve, what joy it will bring, are all hidden at first. The story of clay is a lot like ours. Each precious. Each unique. Shaped by The Potter’s Touch.
